midiOS – Privacy Policy

midiOS does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The app runs entirely on your device as a standalone MIDI controller. It has no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and requires no account or login.
 
 
Data We Do Not Collect
 
midiOS does not collect any of the following:
 

• Personal information

• Contact information

• Location data

• Device identifiers

• User content

• Usage analytics

• Advertising or marketing data

• Network information

• Behavioral profiling data

 
midiOS does not transmit any information off your device under any circumstances.
 
 
Camera / Face Tracking (TrueDepth and Face Data)
 
If you choose to enable Face Control, midiOS uses Apple’s TrueDepth Camera to read real-time facial movement values (such as head rotation or mouth movement) in order to control musical parameters.
 
midiOS does not capture or store:
 

• Images

• Video

• Face geometry

• Depth maps

• Point clouds

• Biometric identifiers

• Any identifiable facial information

 
The app receives only ARKit’s ephemeral numeric blendshape coefficients, which represent movement only. These values:
 

• Are processed exclusively on-device

• Are used only for real-time musical control

• Are never stored, recorded, transmitted, or shared

• Are discarded immediately after use

• Are not used for identification or authentication

 
midiOS never uses face data for recognition, matching, user profiling, or any purpose outside of real-time instrument control.
 
 
MIDI Data
 
midiOS generates MIDI messages (e.g., notes, CC values) on your device. These messages are:
 

• Sent only to your connected MIDI devices or computer

• Not collected or stored by us

• Not transmitted to servers or analytics systems

 
All MIDI activity stays on your device or your local music setup.
 
 
Third Parties
 
midiOS does not share any data with third parties.
No data is sold, rented, or disclosed to anyone.
 
 
Data Retention
 
midiOS retains no data at all.
All of the following are processed strictly in real time and discarded immediately:
 

• Facial movement values

• MIDI interactions

• User input

• Gesture data

• Performance data

 
Nothing is stored after use.

midiOS and midiOS Bridge communicate locally between your devices and do not transmit MIDI or sensor data to external servers.
 
 Children’s Privacy
 
Because midiOS does not collect personal data from any user, it is fully compliant with COPPA and other child privacy regulations.
The app is safe for users of all ages.
 
 
App Permissions
 
Camera
Required only if you enable Face Control. Used exclusively for real-time movement tracking. Never records or stores images or video.
 
Microphone
midiOS does not access or use the microphone.
 
Local Network
midiOS does not connect to external servers or transmit data across networks.
 
File Access
midiOS does not access, read, or write files on your device.
 
 
Security
 
All processing—including MIDI generation, gesture handling, and TrueDepth facial movement analysis—occurs locally on your device.
midiOS does not use:

• Cloud services

• External storage

• Analytics SDKs

• Advertising networks

• Remote logging

• Online connectivity of any kind

 
Your data never leaves your device.
